Thanksgiving is around the corner and it's a wonderful time to reflect on what we are grateful for as a community coalition!
MTAC greatly appreciates the help of so many Massapequa parents, residents and community organizations who continue to volunteer and dedicate their time to our mission. Our work under MTAC's New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services (NYS OASAS) Partnership for Success Grant has contributed to making a difference in the Massapequas.
Please join us and learn more at our next General Meeting on Thursday, November 14th at 7:00 p.m. in Massapequa High School's Little Theater.
MTAC will report regarding its NYS OASAS PFS Grant results, challenges and plans for sustaining its reductions in prescription drug and opioid misuse!

Massapequa SADD's SAFE Halloween
Delivers Parent Prevention Resource
|
|
We are so proud to again collaborate with the wonderful students of the Massapequa High School's SADD Club who continue to provide Massapequas' youngest children with a fun and safe place to trick-or-treat with their families and friends. This year, SADD's dedicated volunteers, Christina Karras, Alex DeJesus, Tara Briody, and MTAC's intern, Emma Martin, stuffed nine hundred MTAC Tote bags with parent/MTAC prevention resources and the Elks Club's drug awareness coloring books for kids. The bags were distributed at SAFE Halloween as part of SADD's efforts to promote healthy families in the Massapequas!
Our sincerest thanks to SADD Advisor Angela Gallucci for her continued efforts to help teens make healthy and safe decisions throughout adolescence and young adulthood!

Thank You Massapequa for
Disposing of Your Rx Drugs!

This year, MTAC collaborated across the Massapequas to collect over 675 pounds of pharmaceuticals and over 200 pounds of sharps and syringes.
Special thanks to the many parents and residents who cleaned out their medicine cabinets! We also greatly appreciate the efforts of the Nassau County Police Department, Senator John Brooks and the Community Action for Social Justice for their ongoing support of MTAC's drug take back events.
Let's continue to reduce prescription drug misuse throughout the year and dispose of pharmaceuticals at any Nassau Count Police Department Precinct
