FIRST DEBATE OF THE SCHOOL YEAR

On Thursday, November 30th HANC attended their first debate of the school year at SAR. Other schools that attended were BPY and Moriah. HANC came in first place school. Congratulations to Sean Mann and Dovi Lemel for coming in first place team. Sean also got first place speaker and Dovi got third place speaker. Looking forward to the next debate in January! So proud of all the hard work the team put in.

SHARK TANK @ HANC MIDDLE SCHOOL

Mrs. Seeno’s eighth graders learned what it takes to be an entrepreneur while working on their Shark Tank Projects. Students chose their groups and had to create a pitch on Flip Grid, a prototype, and pertinent information. Six groups advanced to the finals. There were so many great ideas that it was not an easy task to choose just six! On Monday, November 27th, these six groups pitched their ideas in an assembly with HANC’s very own sharks: Mrs. Morey, Rabbi Hecht, and Rabbi Dworetsky. After viewing the finalist's ideas for the first time and asking questions, there was a tie. Dovi Lemel and Jacob Nelson won with their idea SnagTag and Nili Brukner, Maya Nof, Katie Pilarski, and Shayna Wunder won with their idea TutorBox. Congratulations to the winners. They received extra credit, and certificates, and will be having lunch with Mrs. Seeno next week for their prize!

EIGHTH GRADE GIRLS GO TO HANC ECC FOR CHANUKAH

The 8th grade girls brought the Chanukah spirit to the ECC on Friday 12/8. They assisted the nursery aleph and bet classes in donut decorating, singing, and dancing. Thank you to Mrs. Trudy Rubenstein for inviting the middle school to participate in this amazing event.

HANC MIDDLE SCHOOL AT

THE AMERICAN DREAM MALL

The whole Middle School went to the American Dream Mall on the fifth day of Chanukah. Every student had an opportunity to shop and go into the amusement park to enjoy the rides. The students could be seen in Bravo, eating Cinnabon, or shopping in It’s Sugar! The students had an amazing time! A big thank you to all of the chaperones!

THE NUSSI SHOW COMES TO

HANC MIDDLE SCHOOL

The seventh and eighth-grade boys had an amazing program on Wednesday. The Nussi Show came to our school. The students were mesmerized by all kinds of things including, juggling, jump roping, mind reading, and unicycling while juggling. The different acts were incredible and we still can’t figure out how he was able to do it all.

CHANUKAH ICE CREAM SURPRISE

The middle school girls had a fun and delicious morning this past Wednesday, day #6 of Chanukah. They were given a variety of different unique ice cream/sorbet flavors. They had to think with their teammates about the smell and taste to determine the flavor. The girls did a great job and then enjoyed a cone full of more typical vanilla, chocolate, or chocolate fudge flavors layered up with toppings. It was a festive morning filled with music, Chanukah Taboo (8th grade), and headbands (7th grade). Thank you to Mrs. Morey, Morah Hakimian, Morah Klein, and Mrs. Steiner for facilitating this enjoyable Chanukah activity.

KNEE HOCKEY TOURNAMENT

Our annual Chanukah Knee Hockey Tournament was once again an amazing success. The 7th and 8th grade boys split up into 16 teams of either 3 or 4 boys with 2 different divisions. Each team played a total of 3 regular season games and were then ranked based on their record for the playoffs. All of the games were extremely exciting and fun to partake in. Ultimately though, in the championships, we ended up with the team of Leo Maryles, Eli Zhukovskiy, and Sean Mann vs. Jonah Rosman, Aiden Mordechai, Arvand Omidi, and Jake Dalkoff. The game was amazing and even went to sudden death overtime when Leo Marlyes scored the game winner for his team. Congratulations to the winning team, and to everyone else for participating so beautifully.

TIE-DYE EVENT

The girls participated in an amazing tie-dying activity for Chanukah. Tie-dying allowed the girls to create a vibrant and individual shirt. This hands-on craft not only allowed the girls to showcase their style but also fostered a sense of camaraderie as they shared ideas and techniques. The result was a kaleidoscope of swirling hues that reflect each girl's personality, making the tie-dying experience a craft project and a memorable celebration.
