Last Sunday was the 4th MMAMTA/Odyssey Pre-Collegiate Aria/Concerto Competition. We hosted 13 young students from Columbia, Fulton and St. Louis to compete, of which three winners will be showcased at the Odyssey Chamber Music Series concert on February 12, 2021. Scroll down to hear these incredible performers, pieces ranging from Handel's aria, Mozart piano concerto, to Dvorak cello concerto and Prokofiev violin concerto. It was an exciting 3 hours event. Video and result are posted at the end of this newsletter (available for viewing through 1/17 only). CONGRATULATIONS to all the MMAMTA teachers!

Other deadlines to keep in mind:

  • Jan 20: Registration deadline for the Federated Junior Festival (Gold Cup) auditions in Columbia (Theory, Concerto, all pre-collegiate instrumentalists and vocalists); Feb 5 is the deadline for Jefferson City.
  • Feb 15-Mar 1 (mostly): Application deadline for collegiate auditions (Composition, Dance, music, etc) https://www.nfmc-music.org/competitionscategory/student-collegiate-division/
  • MFMC Junior Festivals in Jefferson City is...?
  • Feb 26, 27, Mar 1: Missouri Federated Music Festivals auditions in Columbia
