Dear Parents and Guardians,
The weather this week would not have me believing we are entering the fourth quarter and now just two months away from graduation. The excitement and anticipation coming from our spring student athletes and the sounds of the musical rehearsals serve as annual reminders, however, that the end of the school year is quickly approaching.
What was once the “Aspire” test for Freshmen and Sophomores is now the “PreACT Secure” test. This test is aligned to the ACT and is an excellent opportunity for students to exercise their skills and learn from the experience prior to taking the ACT as Juniors. Freshmen and Sophomores will take this test on Wednesday, April 10 You should have received an email prior to spring break with a modified schedule for that day, noting that only Freshman and Sophomores are in school for the morning, and all students are in school for the afternoon.
Our Junior Class Officers have been working hard to plan prom along with their class advisor. Prom will be held at the high school on Saturday, May 4th, from 8:00 to 11:00 pm. The Grand March will begin at 8:00 pm. Students have been informed that they are allowed to bring a guest to prom if they follow the proper procedures, including obtaining permission in advance with a standard confirmation from the visiting student’s home school.
As we look ahead to the end of the year, we want to remind you that May 28th and 29th have been designated as “Finals Week” for our seniors, making May 29th the official last day for seniors. Final exams for freshmen, sophomores, and juniors will be held on June 4th, 5th, and 6th, making June 6th the official last day of the 2023-2024 school year.
We are excited to host Graduation at the Alliant Energy Center on our traditional date of Sunday, June 2nd. The ceremony will be held at 10:00 am. We will be sending out more graduation-related information and details to seniors and parents/guardians of seniors in May.
We appreciate your continued partnership and support as we navigate through this exciting and busy time of the year.
Respectfully,
Mitch McGrath
