Students Participate in Certified Scrum Product Owner Workshop
A two-day workshop sponsored by Accenture, attended by 25 students
MEM students attended a two-day Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) workshop in early November as part of the Product Management curriculum. The workshop was conducted by
Vibhu Srinivasan,
Director of SolutionsIQ Agile Software Lab at Accenture.
The two-day workshop was a simulated industry experience, were students were divided into teams and asked to ideate a new product. They structured the product roadmap and developed sprints.
Students were then suddenly asked to switch teams and refocus on another team's product. This element of surprise caused students to reset, readapt and refocus on a different goal, and according to MEM student Fizza Jaffer, "It was agility personified."
Several of the students attending the workshop are currently enrolled in the
MEM490: Product Management course. The hands-on workshop complemented their in-class learning and allowed them to apply the concepts learned during the training to the product ideas that they are working on in the course.
