Habitat for Humanity in Monmouth County ReStore in Freehold celebrates 3rd Anniversary on South St.

Freehold, NJ -   On Saturday, January 27, Habitat for Humanity in Monmouth County will celebrate the third anniversary of its  20,000 sq. ft. ReStore on South St in Freehold. The ReStore sells new and used furniture and home improvement items to the public to help raise funds to support affordable housing programs through locally procured donations.

The event will include a special anniversary sale and refreshments. For more than 10 years, Habitat for Humanity in Monmouth County has operated a ReStore in Western Monmouth, moving three years ago to expand the facility to accommodate demand. Through the proceeds of ReStore sales, the organization supports its current affordable housing programs - new home construction, A Brush with Kindness, Ramps & Rails, and Neighborhood Revitalization. Annually, hundreds of volunteers work in our ReStore and help build our homes along with a dedicated professional staff.

Over the last three years, the location on South St has diverted over 2.5 million pounds of waste from landfills and filled homes with beautiful furniture - old and new, and provided  building  materials to homeowners and contractors while investing in the economic vitality of Freehold.

"Our location on South St. has provided us the opportunity to not only have an environmental impact on our community, but more importantly help us fulfill our mission to build community, homes and hope in our Monmouth County," said Kate Nelson, president, Habitat for Humanity in Monmouth County.
Habitat for Humanity in Monmouth County's ReStore is open Wednesday-Saturday, 10 am - 5 pm, offering new and gently used items at a deep discount. Donations can either be dropped off during our business hours or a free pick up can be scheduled by calling 732-577-8160.
Across the United States and Canada, Habitat for Humanity ReStores - nonprofit home improvement sores and donation centers - sell new and gently used furniture, appliances, home accessories, building materials and more to the public at a fraction of the retail price. ReStores are independently owned and operated by local Habitat for Humanity organizations. Proceeds are used to help build strength, stability, self-reliance and shelter in local communities and around the world.
