Habitat for Humanity in Monmouth County, 95.9 WRAT and Monmouth Mall partner to host House that Rock Built for a Veteran on October 5 & 6

Freehold, NJ -   On October 5 and 6 Habitat for Humanity in Monmouth County and 95.9 WRAT will host the House that Rock Built for a Veteran in the Monmouth Mall parking lot. This project is an affordable home to be located in Keansburg for a Veteran and his or her family. Volunteers and sponsors from Habitat for Humanity in Monmouth County, and 95.9 WRAT will start building the walls for the home during the event.  
The event will take place on October 5 and 6 from 9:00 am- 4:00 pm outside of Monmouth Mall in Eatontown.  This is the third year in a row that Habitat for Humanity in Monmouth County, 95.9 the WRAT, a Beasley Media Group, and Monmouth Mall have partnered on the event, that draw hundreds of volunteers, donors and spectators annually.
This event will help raise awareness as to the need for affordable housing in Monmouth County.  Proceeds from the event will help HFHMC offset the cost of construction, labor, building materials and supplies.
The event is strongly supported by local businesses and contractors from in and around Monmouth County that have committed building materials, products and contracted services to the project. Major sponsors include: T&M Associates, Kearny Bank, Ashley Home Stores, Pine Belt Chevrolet, Seaview Orthopedics,   AJ Perri, Monmouth Mall, Wells Fargo, Ocean First Foundation, Commvault,   KRFC Kitchen Design Center, Carl's Fencing Decking Home Improvements, Woodhaven Lumber and Millwork, ABCO/HVAC, Stohrer's Appliance, Tiles by the Sea, Russo's Seamless Gutters, and Fortified Roofing.
"We look forward to our annual House that Rock Built, that we are able to offer this home to a local veteran is even more special," said Kate Nelson, board president, Habitat for Humanity in Monmouth County. "95.9 WRAT and Monmouth Mall have been exceptionally generous supporters of our mission. Thanks to them, we have been able to grow this event and the exposure of our organization," she added.
In addition to a homeowner testimonial,  local elected officials will be on hand to make remarks during opening ceremonies. Other activities scheduled include free blood pressure and cholesterol screenings provided by Monmouth Medical. The Central Jersey Blood Mobile will be seeking blood donations.  Blood donors are encouraged to reserve a spot on line at  The office of Monmouth County Veterans Affairs will also be on hand to provide valuable information on Veterans services in Monmouth County.
Habitat for Humanity is currently accepting homeownership applications for this home. Veterans who reside in Northeast and/or Western Monmouth County and have served in the active military and who were discharged or released under conditions other than dishonorable are invited to apply.
