WCVI to host Ponte Las Pilas, SELA!

Ride and Drive Electric Vehicle (EV) Family Event  

                                                                                            

Family Event to Bring EVs to SELA Neighborhoods to Celebrate National Drive Electric Week. Initiative is part of WCVI’s strategy to mitigate Climate Change and Air Pollution 

 Free family event will feature music, food and dessert, surprises, and a

chance to win a TV.


(Los Angeles, CA – September 30, 2023) William C. Velásquez Institute (WCVI) to host the Ponte Las Pilas, SELA! Ride and Drive Electric Vehicle (EV) Family Event in partnership with the City of Cudahy and community groups today, Saturday, September 30th, 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at Cudahy Park located at 5240 Santa Ana Street, Cudahy 90201, entrance by Cudahy City Hall.


National Drive Electric Week is presented by Plug In AmericaThe Electric Vehicle AssociationThe Sierra ClubEVHybridNoire, and Drive Electric USA.


What: WCVI to host Ponte las Pilas, SELA! Ride and Drive Electric Vehicle (EV) Family Event. Participants can ride or drive an electric vehicle from Nissan and/or Penske Toyota.


WCVI is bringing an opportunity for Latino families from the SELA cities, Cudahy, Bell Gardens, Bell, Maywood, Lynwood, and surrounding communities to learn about EVs. In partnership with Food Fleet, WCVI is hosting 5 Elementos Food Truck. Nissan will give away t-shirts and host a dessert truck. Ponte Las Pilas, translated to English, is put in the batteries. WCVI is utilizing this phrase to engage Latino and minority communities about the benefits of Electric Vehicles. This event, the first of its kind, will bring Electric Vehicles to a Latino neighborhood in SELA for residents to experience first-hand. A variety of EVs will be available to test drive, ride in or view at this event. Experts will be onsite to answer questions about EV rebates, incentives and financing.
