Camp MECE

We had an amazing final two weeks of camp!! The children had a wonderful time in art creating watercolor paintings, Olympic torches, and clay metals. During science time they created Fireworks in a bottle and launched shot put catapults. In Fun with Food they enjoyed crepes with strawberries and whip cream and peaches and whip cream torches.

While in Bibletime the children heard stories about David and his life's journey, played instruments like David, learned the song "My God is so Big", they also talked about how God made each of special and unique, he gave us our five senses and learned the song "Oh, be careful". Our campers had a great time learning all about the game of soccer from Coach Jake from Storytime Soccer and Coach Connor from Amazing Athletes taught the children all about Track and Field events.

We would like to thank our specialist teachers, Miss Sandie, Art/Science/Fun with Food, Miss Melissa, Bibletime, and Miss Romi, Sports for all their hard work, planning and dedication to make sure our campers had amazing experience at camp. Thank you to our camp group leaders and youth helpers for all they did to make sure they got to their activities on time and help keep our campers busy during those rainy times. We hope your child enjoyed coming to camp as much as we did!!

We look forward to seeing everyone again next year!!!

Make a Change

During camp we collected $140.26 for Special Olympics. The Special Olympics mission remains as vital today as it did when the movement was founded in 1968. Special Olympics provides year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.

Here is what MECE parents and students say about why MECE is so special!

Welcome to the Birthday Book Club!

No new members at this time but we hope you are reading to your child every night.

We are looking forward to the new school year! MECE uses the Procare app for contactless sign in and out. If you are new to MECE then you will receive an invitation about 5 days before your child's first day of school (see important dates below). Returning families may find they need to log out and log back in.

MECE provides school supplies for all preschoolers. Children need a full sized back pack, a lunch box (if staying for Lunch Bunch) and a reusable water bottle (filled with water, not juice). We also encourage the use of reusable containers in lunch boxes. We will have our friend, JoAnn Di Lorenzo from Tupperware available on Meet the Teacher day if you want to stock up on water bottles or other containers.

The Palm Beach Health Department requires that all water bottles, lunch boxes, etc. be labeled with a child's first and last name. I recommend you order Mabel's Labels for reliable stick on labels. Be sure to indicate MECE as the organization you are supporting.

The Health Department has a number of brochures that we must provide to you. Please enjoy reading, "About your Child's Daycare", "Distracted Driver", and "Flu Prevention" at the bottom of this email. You will be asked to sign a form at Meet the Teacher day regarding these.

Please note that the Health Department does not allow children to have hand sanitizer in or on their backpacks. Please do not send in any hand sanitizer. Children wash their hands at the sink whenever possible and teachers provide sanitizer

if needed outside.

Carline helpers are needed for morning drop off. Please let me know if you are available one day of the week from 8:45-9:10. This is a fun way to

get to know MECE staff and families!

We are excited to announce that Marvelous Mondays are available to all potty trained students in a 2 day or 4 day class. This program is the same hours and has a focus on gardening, composting, and other green topics! Pay by the semester or use as a drop in program (with advance notice

at $50 per use).

Parents Morning Out (PMO) is open 5 days per week from 9-noon! Get more information and sign up on the church's website.

The purpose of the MECE Parent Association is to build a strong community among our pre-School and kindergarten parents; support the teachers and staff; and to raise funds to support the school. All parents of MECE students are members of the Parent Association. The MECE Parent Association plans numerous events and opportunities for parents to get involved and participate in the MECE Parent Association, thereby directly supporting the school and our children.
