Uncertainty the Trend for Fertilizer into 2023


Fertilizer prices soared in the spring, but despite concerns about supply, the product will likely not have many availability issues in 2022. However, farmers will continue paying higher prices for their products this winter and spring. More here.

NCGA Announced 2023 Action Teams


The new slate and returning farmers' leaders who will serve as members of its action teams and committees beginning on January 1st. These volunteer farmers will actively shape the future of their industry by guiding programs and carrying out policies and priorities that drive the association. Nori, Bayer partnership and Carbon Credits


Nori is looking to scale up its agriculture carbon credit program through a partnership with agrochemical giant Bayer Ag and its new digital platform that helps producers implement and manage regenerative practices such as cover crops and conservation tillage. More here.

USDA Conservation Program - Prioritize Climate Stewardship


The Environmental Working Group analyzed conservation data and found that less than 1% of CSP spending went to practices and enhancements the USDA considered to be "climate-smart." Therefore, EWG created a list of 207 climate-smart CSP practices and enhancements that are good at reducing both greenhouse gas emissions and the amount of nutrients in the water. National Sorghum Foundation Scholarship 


Undergraduates working towards an agriculturally-related degree are eligible for the National Sorghum Scholarship due December 1st. Check it out here.

Maryland Grain Producers Scholarship 


The Maryland Grain Producers has three different scholarships this year. Applications are due January 31st. More information and eligibility requirements can be found here.


  • Three $3,000 scholarships to MGPA members studying for a 2 or 4-year degree. 
  • Two $2,000 scholarships to MGPA members studying for a 2 or 4-year degree. 
  • Two $1,000 scholarships for non-GMPA members studying agriculture in a 2 or 4-year program. 

National Corn Growers Association Scholarship


NCGA is proud to support three scholarship programs for three distinct audiences. Technical School/Community College, Academic Excellence, and Graduate Students. Applications are currently open and due January 31st. Learn more online here.
