Studio 54 Paws & More!

On Saturday, June 8th, the Monmouth County SPCA held its 2024 Fur Ball Gala at Tilling House in Eatontown. The event was held to celebrate the rescue work and animal advocacy of Robin and John Klein and their beloved rag-tag family of rescue pets, affectionately called the Klein Pup Pack.

During the cocktail hour, guests were able to meet with MCSPCA Alumni, including Gus, a once stray and homeless pitbull who was recently adopted as the station dog for Deal Firehouse. There were lots of other furry faces to snuggle including some of our adoptable puppies and orphaned kittens accompanied by our staff. The Fur Ball Gala is our MOST important fundraiser of the year and helps us raise critical funds to care for thousands of animals! The 2024 Fur Ball Gala was made possible by a large amount of support of the event’s sponsors, most notably the 2024 Ring My Bell Sponsors, Stillwell-Hansen, and The Cooper Voccola Foundation. Long-Stay Resident Finds His Forever Home!

For the whole month of June, most of our adult dogs had a donation-only fee. We kicked off the event by posting Maverick, a young pittie mix who was coming up on one whole year in our care! After Maverick's photo was published online, his new family rushed to the shelter to adopt being that he reminded them of their beloved passed pet. Many other amazing shelter pets found there forever homes during the event and we couldn't be happier! We still have so many deserving dogs waiting for there homes - check them out here

Emergency Duckling Rescue!

Spring and Summer leave us no shortage of adorable wildlife stories, but some rescue missions are trickier than others. Two MCSPCA Animal Control Officers arrived on the scene after receiving a call about ducklings that had fallen into a storm drain. The drain cover refused to budge - even with four firefighters to pry the bars off, but a hydraulic tool finally did the trick!

After an hour and a half of struggle, an ACO climbed into the drain and recovered eight healthy ducklings. Their mother had flown off during the commotion, but fortunately, we were able to reunite the family the following morning. Thank you so much to our amazing Animal Control Officers and the Freewood Acres Fire Department for their willingness to assist in this duck tale! With the help of our generous donors and our community, we’re able to help the ones that need us most ❤

Kitten Season is here:

AOGO (Adopt One, Get One!)

Monday, July 1st through Sunday, July 7th we'll be having an adopt a kitten at a regular fee and get a second kitten for no fee! Studies show that having a buddy helps with a kitten's behavioral and emotional development - cats are social animals who enjoy the company of their own species ❤ All of our kittens are spay/neutered, microchipped, snap-tested and vaccinated before going home!

Save the Date for our 4th Annual Doggy Paddle Polar Plunge!

Animal Lovers of Every Age

We'd like to give a heartfelt thank you to Howell Girl Scout Troop #1105 and Brandywine Senior Living of Wall for their hard work and dedication in collecting donations for our animals. These groups are an excellent example of how every person can make a difference as part of a team, at any age ❤🐾

Microchip Clinic Success!

We have always stressed the importance of getting pets microchipped. Statistics show that one in three pets will become lost at some point during their lives, but cats and dogs with registered microchips are much more likely to experience a happy reunion with their loving families. On June 22nd, we held a free microchip clinic and welcomed families to take advantage of this life-saving initiative! We were so proud to microchip over 50 pets and offer free lifetime registration so that if their pet were to ever become lost, it would be easier than ever to get them back home! Our Vogel Veterinary Care Center offers microchip services regularly - call 732-542-3125 to make an appointment.

Food Not Fireworks 🐾

We know the fireworks are coming, and every year dozens of shelter pets get scared and run! We always see an uptick of lost pets during 4th of July week - so this year, let's make a difference instead of making noise.

Instead of buying fireworks this year, which not only spook our beloved pets but also disrupt wildlife and create unnecessary debris, consider donating pet food or treats to shelter pets We put together a special wishlist for items our pets love the most and use daily!
