MCEDC Hosts Town Hall Meeting
Members of the EDC Leadership Team held a town hall meeting on October 30, 2017 to discuss the program budget, review the results of the Fall 2017 Student Satisfaction Survey, and discuss next steps for adding course content and research opportunities for EDC students. Attendees included most of the PhD-level students in the program along with several of our master's students. The group had a productive conversation regarding some of the recent challenges identified by students regarding course content and limited funding for research opportunities that focus specifically on EDC topics. Moving forward, the leadership team and a group of student volunteers from across the program topic areas will work together to review and possibly update the expected experience and academic pre-requisites that students should have prior to starting our program and expected body of knowledge gained from participating in the EDC certificate program. Stay tuned for updates of our program in the next several months.
