Our Apologies
Many, if not all of the folks on our distribution list have not received our newsletter in quiet some time. We recently discovered an issue with our email distribution list due to an update. Please accept my sincere apologies. - Justin
EDA Economic Development Grant Opportunities
The US Economic Development Administration (EDA) invites applicants to submit applications under its Public Works program and Economic Adjustment Assistance (EAA) programs. Through these programs, EDA invites applications to request grant assistance for clearly defined construction or non-construction assistance projects that will advance job creation, job retention and private investment or enhance economic development decision-making.

EDA’s construction grant programs may support the construction of new public assets or the renovation of existing public assets, which include but are not limited to water/sewer lines, tanks, systems, pumps; incubators; access roads; workforce training facilities; commercialization centers; port improvements; and other similar projects.

EDA’s non-construction projects can support a wide array of activities, including highest and best use analysis, cluster and supply chain mapping studies, and regional technical assistance projects.

Matching funds are required and must be committed at the time of the project and for the same scope of work. For Public Works and Economic Adjustment Assistance Programs, the match is generally 50 percent, although some communities may qualify for a higher grant rate.

To learn more and to discuss potential projects, please contact Hillary Sherman, EDA, at hsherman@eda.govClick here to access the funding notice and application forms.

New Case Study on COVID-19 Public Transit Delivery Programs
The Shared-Use Mobility Center has released a new case study with examples of public transit delivery programs that arose in response to COVID-19. The case study provides an overview of how the delivery programs work and how differing needs of customers and geographic areas influence program design. Examples from Charlevoix County, Michigan; El Dorado Transit in California; Squaxin Island Tribe in Washington; and several counties in south central Indiana are included.

NC Trails Survey
What trails do you use and like most? What would make that experience better? What are the most important new trail connections that should be made?

The NC Department of Transportation wants to hear from the public about NC’s trails and how to make them better.

The public can give feedback two ways by taking an interactive map survey and a 10-question survey. Participants are encouraged to take both surveys.  Click here to share your thoughts.
