Every Kid Healthy Week

Action for Healthy Kids invites schools around to the country to join a week long celebration of school health and wellness. Action for Healthy Kids Every Kid Healthy Week is coming up during the week of April 19th to the 25th.

Launched by Action for Healthy Kids in 2013, Every Kid Healthy Week is an annual observance designed to celebrate school wellness achievements and recognized on the calendar of National Health Observances. Observed the last week of April each year, this special week shines a spotlight on the epidemic of childhood obesity and the connection between healthy eating, physical activity and academic success. Everyone in the country can get involved in Every Kid Healthy Week and be a part of the solution by supporting sound nutrition, regular physical activity and health-promoting programs at schools.

To celebrate Every Kid Healthy Week, your school can implement wellness initiatives to promote and reinforce healthy eating, physical activity, nutrition education and physical education in order to increase student achievement. Are you hosting an existing school event in April? Why not make the focus on healthy kids and families to show your school's commitment to wellness? Find event ideas at Action for Healthy Kids website

Make your school wellness activities a part of the national movement by registering your event and posting it in the Get in the Action Volunteer Center to promote your event and recruit volunteers in your community for Every Kid Healthy Week and events year-round.
