MARK ROBINSON RELEASES PUBLIC SAFETY PLAN

STATESVILLE, NC – Today, North Carolina Lieutenant Governor and Republican nominee for Governor Mark Robinson released his public safety plan.

“For too long, far-left career politicians like Josh Stein and Kamala Harris have made our state and country a magnet for violent crime and dangerous drugs. From ending cash bail to pandering to radical activists that want to defund the police, Josh Stein and Kamala Harris’ pro-criminal, anti-law-enforcement agenda must end.

“My plan focuses on standing with law enforcement, cracking down on violent crime and dangerous drugs, and getting criminals off the streets and behind bars where they belong.” – North Carolina Lieutenant Governor and Republican nominee for Governor Mark Robinson

Mark Robinson’s Public Safety Plan includes:

Stand with Law Enforcement

  • Reject once and for all extremist groups that want to defund the police
  • Prioritize raises for law enforcement officers in state budgets
  • Reinstate the death penalty for those that kill police and corrections officers

Secure the Border and Fight Dangerous Drugs

  • Work with the legislature to pass a bill that requires law enforcement to cooperate with federal immigration authorities and honor U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detainers

Crack Down on Violent Criminals

  • Reject far-left proposals to end cash bail
  • Appoint judges that will follow the law and stop letting violent criminals out on the street with a slap on the wrist

These proposals are designed to address the epidemic of violent crime and dangerous drugs across North Carolina in our cities and towns and across the country.

Since President Biden appointed Kamala Harris border czar in 2021, human trafficking and drug smuggling continue to plague our state. Last year, the Drug Enforcement Administration seized a record 386 million doses of fentanyl within our country’s borders, more than enough to kill every American. North Carolina ranks ninth in the nation for human trafficking, and dangerous drugs continue to flow into our communities. Last December, Iredell County Sheriff Darren Campbell’s office arrested 2 fentanyl traffickers with enough dangerous drugs to kill more than 26 million people – more than twice the population of North Carolina.

Under the anti-police policies of Joe Biden, Kamala Harris and Josh Stein, violent attacks on law enforcement have been on the rise and are at a ten-year high. This spring, Charlotte saw the deadliest attack on law enforcement in the U.S. since 2016, with four officers killed and another four wounded.

Major metro areas like Charlotte and Raleigh are seeing large increases in murder. Domestic violence and intimate partner homicide are rising across the state.
