This month there is a lot of exciting news to share!
First off, our Medicinal Spring Cleaning Packages start in April. This is a popular alternative to harsh and demanding detox programs. This program helps to optimize your system to clear out toxins, while optimizing organ function for higher demand seasons, like spring and summer. There are no emergency trips to the washroom, or eating foods you've never heard of. This program is designed to support your system, while you continue a month of healthy living. You can read more about our approach below. Booking before April offers you a 10% discount on medicines used in this therapy.
The clinic is growing! We have brought on a new doctor, Dr. Claire Wilson. Please meet Dr. Wilson below. We couldn't be more excited to have a second Naturopathic Doctor serving the Valley. Our clinic has also partnered with Dietician Tiffany Schebesch. Tiffany's new weight loss program is a huge hit with clients, and I am in full support of her approach, as well as her clinical expertise when approaching medical dietary protocols.
The clinic has also had a 'facelift'. Check out our new website and systems at

I cannot wait to share all these new developments when I see you next!

The Biotherapeutic Drainage
Drainage incorporates the fundamental principles of naturopathic medicine;
1. Do no harm
2. The body is capable of self-regulation
3. Physiology prevails over pathology
4. Restoring the individual's physiology is essential to healing their pathology
5. The four pillars of health must also be taken into account with equal value given to: diet, drainage and elimination, psychological equilibrium and balancing of the hereditary characteristics.
We all know that detoxification is an important component of optimal health. In order for our bodies to work at their full capacity, they need to be able to eliminate toxins that accumulate from the things we breathe, eat, drink, and even touch. When the toxins that accumulate in our body exceed the rate at which our organs are able to get rid of them, we can experience symptoms, such as fatigue, muscle and joint pain, brain fog, chronic infections, allergies, poor digestion, skin problems and hormone imbalances.
Therefore, it's imperative to periodically reset our body's pathways of elimination (also known as emunctories) and keep our personal load of toxicity from overflowing and presenting as symptoms.
For most, periodic detoxification is the best way to get the body's emunctories (the liver, kidneys, intestines, bladder, lungs and skin) back to their peak level of drainage. But, detox programs can sometimes be harsh and push the body towards the upper limits of its elimination capacity in order to remove these toxic accumulations. For some, this process can make them feel much worse before they feel better, and deplete the body of important nutrients and minerals. Detoxification has its place when there is severe toxicity present, but for those who want to annually drain their emunctories and keep their elimination at an optimal rate, or have very sensitive systems; detoxification may be an extreme way to go.
Fortunately, there's an alternative method of eliminating toxins called Biotherapeutic Drainage. Biotherapeutic Drainage is a gentle, intracellular process that facilitates the body's natural ability to eliminate toxins on its own, without forcing the body beyond its natural limits. Drainage gently restores health in a long-lasting way by helping the body return to its true natural state of health. Drainage can also be done in combination with other medications without any negative side effects.
Dr. Denoon offers Biotherapeutic Drainage kits that are a fantastic way to get started on the path to optimal elimination. These are a convenient three-week kit containing everything you need to facilitate your emunctories through deep intra- and extra-cellular elimination, while respecting your natural physiology.
If you did our cold and flu program in the fall and winter, you'll be familiar with how well her approach works in supporting and preventing disease, while strengthening the body.
Dr Denoon encourages all of her patients to do biotherapeutic drainage in the spring. She offers a package which includes two appointments; one to discuss how to do the protocol and any personalized specifics or changes, as well as goal setting session; the medicines, and a follow up appointment to discuss changes and how you are choosing to move forward in your new body. The entire program runs a month long.
ONE MONTH to clear out the cobwebs of winter, and get our bodies working optimally for spring and summer!
The package starts in April 2017 and is offered until June 2017. Dr. Denoon does not recommend drainage in the summer heat, or the cooler weather temperatures of our winters (unless medically indicated and supervised). Feel free to be in touch with the clinic to inquire further around this program, or book in to discuss this option with Dr. Denoon....or Dr. Wilson!

She looks forward to caring for patients at Dr. Denoon's clinic in Fernie. Dr. Wilson starts in the clinic April 3, 2017.
We cannot wait to welcome her!
As we all know, Fernie is not an easy place to find accommodation. If you know of a single occupancy option (
apartment
, condo, garage suite, suite in a house) that we could help to accommodate Dr. Wilson (long term), and make her feel welcome and comfortable, please reach out to the clinic to offer suggestions and contacts.
