MAP Policy Updates

On March 1, 2024, the Department of Public Health (DPH) Medication Administration Program (MAP) released updates to the MAP Policy Manual. The following sections of the MAP Policy Manual were revised:

• Section 02
• Annual Observation of Medication Administration Form was updated to reflect the new Medication Administration Process
• Section 05
• MAP Recertification Evaluation Form was updated to reflect the new Medication Administration Process
• MAP Recertification Evaluation Guide was updated to reflect the new Medication Administration Process
• Section 08
• Expanded to include language that only the last page of a multi-page set of HCP orders require an HCP signature (wet or image) if established criteria are met
• Section 12
• Expanded to allow for the use of Biometric Medication Security System
• New policy 12-9: Biometric Medication Security System
• Section 14
• Service Provider Policy requirements if Biometric Medication Security System is utilized
