MANITOGA Rolls Out the Red Carpet
A New South Entrance Drive
We are thrilled to announce that Manitoga's Access Road Restoration Project is almost complete.
Thanks to a
$200,000 grant from New York State Office, Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation - Environmental Protection Fund and generous matching gifts, the public South Entrance Drive has been reconfigured and re-graded. A new turn-around will allow access by multi-passenger vehicles, the parking area will be enhanced, and the entrance restored with wildflowers and native plantings.
The finished results are coming soon and will be graceful and dramatic!
Summer Nature & Design Camp
Still a few slots left!
A large-scale pavilion designed by University of Pennsylvania Architecture students is here just in time for camp! Inspired by Russel Wright's modern designs, the Pavilion will introduce campers, through fun hands-on projects, to architecture, design, and engineering - in a magical setting. We are thrilled to offer our campers this unique experience. Space is limited.

On any given day, there goes Emily weeding the green roofs, pruning the mountain laurel, and surveying the trails. She cares for Manitoga's 75 acre woodland garden with a
small team of contractors, interns, and volunteers.
This Spring has been busy as the Jolly Rovers Trail Crew continues to restore stone features along the trails, the South Entrance Drive is restored, and a new and enlarged trailhead kiosk is underway. On Saturdays this season, hikers will meet Site Educator and Landscape Assistant Kate Brittenham, trained by Emily to share more about Russel Wright's design with nature.
SAVE THE DATE - Lend Emily a hand! Join us for Volunteer Landscape Workday on September 23, 9am-2pm.
