If you receive an unexpected call about an account issue, never give out any personal information. Do not call them back at a number they leave you. Instead, hang up and call the company (or credit union) directly using a phone number you already know (or from their website). Or, if possible, call us and consult with us about the request before you do anything. Services like Amazon and Apple will almost never contact you by phone about order disputes or insufficient payment.
Scammers are targeting some people through text messages and emails, as well. If you receive an unexpected message from an unknown number about a missing package, order problem or account issue, do not click the link. Instead, follow up with the company directly on their website or with a legitimate phone number.
