Help us lobby for 'special support' measures for retail, hospitality and leisure businesses
UK Hospitality has already warned that the new Tier 3 system will result in 94% of hospitality businesses becoming unviable by March 2021. In Tier 2 it is 75% and even at Tier 1 25%.

We agree that sector specific measures require sector specific support, which is why Luton BID is supporting the ‘Bounce Back Better’ manifesto which outlines a range of packages to provide a vital lifeline for hospitality, retail and leisure businesses alike.

The manifesto follows intense and thorough talks with businesses, BIDs, local authorities, destinations and industry bodies to provide options of support to help the UK economy ‘Bounce Back Better’.

Luton BID is working with industry bodies to lobby the Government for additional support on behalf of retail, hospitality and leisure businesses.

Write a letter to your local MP
The BID has also written a letter to local MP Rachel Hopkins urging her to get behind the ‘Bounce Back Better’ campaign, but we need your help too. We ask all businesses to consider writing a letter to your local MP and to assist with this you can find an outline of our letter by clicking HERE.
Additional financial support for wet-led pubs
An additional £1,000 Christmas grant from the government for ‘wet-led pubs’ in tiers 2 and 3 will be available for those businesses who will miss out on much needed trade during the festive period.

Pubs that predominantly serve drinks and alcohol rather than food have been asked to make huge sacrifices over the usually busy Christmas season, and will be eligible for a one-off £1000.

The payment will be for December only, and will be paid on top on the existing £3,000 monthly cash grants for businesses. This will cover those in tiers 2 and 3 that have been forced to reduce their operations as a result of the latest regional measures.

Further details can be found HERE.
Shop Local. Eat Local. Stay Safe.
Luton BID will be continually updating the website over the Christmas period to promote how businesses are reopening and adapting to keep shoppers safe.

Our Christmas webpage includes a directory of businesses and their opening times (to be updated), details of The Mall Luton's Christmas arrangements, parking details and a video of COVID-safe measures in the town centre.

Please make sure you give us information to include so we can add your business to the directory. Click HERE.
