Tidy Day - sign up for our May event

Following our first successful Tidy Day of 2019 we will be running a Tidy Morning on Friday, 24th May 2019. The event will run from 8.30am to 10.30am and we will be litter picking across the town centre.

These initiatives has been designed to support Luton BID’s objective to make the town centre a more appealing place to work and visit.

Our new footfall camera

Luton BID has funded an additional footfall camera on Church Street to measure the number of people coming into town from the Power Court Car Park and University of Bedfordshire.

Both the car park and the increased number of students using the town centre campus have meant this route has seen an increase in footfall. With the area's potential future development the BID felt it necessary to monitor the area more closely.

Footfall in the town centre has seen an increase of 7.5% in 2019 compared to the same point in 2018 although we did see a slow start to last year due to the cold weather (The Beast from the East}.

Mystery Shopping update

We recently launched our 2019 Mystery Shopping programme and awards for 2019 and we are delighted that over 40 businesses have already committed to taking part.

We still have places available but please do register as soon as possible as space is limited. Our Mystery Shopping scheme is designed to identify, enhance and recognise customer service excellence in Luton town centre.

Sign up to take part by emailing info@lutonbid.org by 5pm on Friday 31 ^st May. You will then be visited by a mystery shopper this summer and invited to a prestigious awards event in September. Find out more about the scheme on our website HERE.

Luton BID update

This free event, from 9.30am to 11am, will take place next Thursday, 2nd May.

This is an event exclusively for town centre businesses and is your opportunity to find out what is planned for the town centre this year.

Find out about our Mystery Shopping awards, our packed programme of events, what is planned over the coming months and much more. This is also your opportunity to share your ideas and help shape the future of Luton town centre. Simply pop along to Tokko and sign in at reception.

The event is on the third floor, and will be led by Luton BID Project Manager Fergus McLardy (pictured).
