[Ludlow Village Bridge 57 Removal & Pedestrian Bridge Installation Project]

TRAFFIC IMPACT AND DURATION: Pleasant Street at the junction of Pleasant Street and Mill Street is closed to all vehicle traffic to facilitate project construction. A detour is in place that routes vehicle traffic from Pleasant Street along Elm Street, Main Street, and Pleasant Street Extension. 


Pleasant Street is open for bicycle and pedestrian traffic via a signed temporary path. 


CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES: On Sunday, May 19, during daytime hours, crews plan to remove the existing truss bridge from the abutments. Monday, May 20 through Friday, May 24, during daytime hours, crews will complete any remaining drilled micropile installation at Abutment 1 on Pleasant Street. The contractor will set up in-water isolation devices and begin substructure surface repairs on the bridge. Crews will also prepare the removed truss bridge for shipping away from the site.


LOCATION: Bridge 57 is situated on Mill Street over the Black River with Main Street to the north and Pleasant Street to the south in Ludlow, VT. 


PROJECTED COMPLETION: October 2024
