LHE Student Talent Show

Come watch the LHE Talent Show tonight, Thursday (June 13th) in the lunchroom, starting at 6:00pm and going until around 8pm!

All family members and friends are invited to come and watch our very talented participants. Only rule is that kids must sit with a parent or guardian and we are not going to allow them to all sit on the floor together and watch.

If your child is participating in the show, you must arrive no later than 5:45pm to get organized and prepared.

LHE School Cafeteria | 6pm

Field day is TOMORROW June 14th!

Thank you to the volunteers who signed up to make tomorrow happen and the Popcorn Dads for continuing the tradition of the last Popcorn of the year at Field Day.

Have your child dress in clothes for being outside participating in Field Day. Fingers crossed for sunshine!

Congratulations to the Golden Acorn & Outstanding Educator Award Winners!

The winner of the Golden Acorn this year is Trisha Covich! The Golden Acorn Award is an award for an outstanding community member nominated by our community. Trisha is a cornerstone of our PTA. She generously donates her time, skills, and resources and is an invaluable asset to LHE. If there is something to be done, Trisha is already two steps ahead!

The Outstanding Educator Award is presented to Morgan Lamy! This award is for an educator who has made significant contributions in their community to enhance the educational outcomes of all students. Morgan is loved dearly by the students, colleagues and families. She goes above and beyond by creating meaningful lessons and partnering with her students in creating daily routines. She ensures that each of her students feel welcome and valued in the classroom.

Thank you Mr. Starr and All the Staff for the amazing Spring Concert! It was loved by all!

Thank you to each and every one of YOU! What an amazing community we have at Loyal Heights Elementary!

LOST AND FOUND IS OUT OF CONTROL!! HELP!

As you can see, it is overflowing to the point of being a hazard and blocking the doors.

The Lost and Found will be on display along the fence at the end of the day, June 21. Please take a look before picking your child/ren up on the last day of school.

Everything leftover will be bagged and donated.

Thank you,

Lost and Found Committee

READ ALL SUMMER LONG!

To encourage summer reading and avoid the "summer slide", the LHE Literacy Team has compiled the following resources to distribute.

Summer Shelfie - All students can complete the Shelfie by recording books they read over the summer. It was sent home with students. You can download a copy HERE.

Completed Shelfies should be returned to the library during the first week of school for a bookworm.

2024 Summer Reading Programs - THIS resource page has loads of summer reading initiatives for students to take part in. A few of the links will not be updated until mid-June. This resource was created by my colleague, librarian Susan Finnegan, of McDonald International School.

Summer Reading Suggestions - THIS resource page lists all of next year's award nominees. These will be the titles featured in next year's 12 to Try Challenge of students want to get a head start on some great new reads! This document was created by the SPS NE Librarians PLC.

5th grade teachers already received the packet from Whitman. Though requested, I have not received materials from any other middle schools.

Keep READING all summer!

Art at LHE!

Students and Ms. DiPrima have been busy filling the hall of Loyal Heights. Projects include mono-printing, paper mosaics, collage, and dot inspired pop art. Artists studied include Henri Rousseau, Yayoi Kusama, and Jacob Lawerence. Go to the art page on the LH website to see photos of work from each grade.
