PTA Events Babysitter List '24-'25

LHE PTA offers on-site childcare for various PTA sponsored events throughout the school year. Do you have an older child (15+) that would be interested in paid babysitting during these events next year?

We are compiling a list of potential babysitters and will offer up opportunities throughout the school year to those interested.

This information will only be available to LHE PTA and will be deleted at the end of each school year. Our intention is to send out a Google Form towards the end of each school year to get a list of potential babysitters for the following school year.

LOST AND FOUND IS OUT OF CONTROL.

As you can see, it is overflowing to the point of being a hazard and blocking the doors.

PLEASE take a look, even if you think you aren't missing something.

Since there is so much, if anyone wants to hang back and help take it down at the end, that would be much appreciated.

Spring Testing will Begin Soon for the 3rd – 5th graders for the SBA and WCAS.

Please try to arrange any appointments, planned days off and vacations around your students’ testing days. Make up days will be scheduled if a student is absent. The MAP testing begins on May 22nd. The schedule will be posted when available.

3rd Grade – 5/15, 5/17, 5/21, and 5/23

4th Grade – 5/1, 5/6, 5/8, 5/13, and 5/16

5th Grade – 4/30, 5/2, 5/7, 5/9, and 5/14

Here are some tips for families to help prepare for testing.

1. Make sure your child gets plenty of rest the night before the test.

2. On the morning of the test, your child needs to get up in plenty of time, so he/she won’t feel rushed.

3. Feed your child a good breakfast. Research shows that children do better on tests if they have had a good breakfast.

4. Do as much as you can to make your child feel comfortable. Try not to say things to make him/her feel more nervous.

5. Reassure your child that no matter the outcome of the test you will still love him/her.

Encourage them to simply do their best.

This info is also posted on the website:

SPARTS CAMP

is a unique blend of sports, arts, and science, providing a dynamic and enriching experience for elementary school students.

We believe in fostering a holistic approach to education and recreation, and our camp is designed to spark curiosity, creativity, and physical activity. Our program is designed to keep children active and stimulated while providing a safe and nurturing environment. We designed each session to complement the educational values of our schools and can help students maintain and enhance their academic achievements over the summer. In past years we have offered this exclusively to Adams students, but this year we wanted to extend the invitation to include students from our broader community.

SPARTS camp runs for 3 weeks in July. Our program is solely staffed with Seattle Public School educators who are passionate about working with children.

In our commitment to making SPARTS accessible to all families, we are pleased to offer scholarships for those in need. Our goal is to create an inclusive and diverse community where every child can thrive.
