Love Shine Play with Valerie & Luna!

Dear Friends,

I hope you are enjoying these beautiful summer days in the mountains. I’m writing to personally invite you to join me at the Love, Shine, Play Festival that’s taking place in Asheville at the end of this month, July 25-28..

Formally known as the Asheville Yoga Festival, this is a 4 day event with internationally renowned yoga teachers, (like MC Yogi, Sianna Sherman, Janet Stone, Faith Hunter, DJ Drez, Sean Johnson & the Wild Lotus Band and more). In fact, there will be more yoga than you can possibly do, lots of music, kirtan, dancing, hiking opportunities, paddle board yoga, and more. But mostly it’s about building community and celebrating the amazing things that transpire when like minded people gather.

There are 6 or more classes going on at any given time in spaces throughout downtown. Pack Square Park is transformed into an Open Air Market with over 50 vendors selling handmade malas and jewelry, clothing, yoga props, and offering bodywork and healthy food. Embodied” where we will explore the energy of the goddess by weaving together myth, mantra, movement and music. This year’s theme is “Journey to Joy!” Who doesn’t need more of that?

I’m also super excited to be teaching this year in collaboration with my dear friend Luna Ray. Many of you know her music from kirtans we’ve held at Neighborhood Yoga over the years. We are co-teaching a class on Saturday the 27th, called “Shakti Embodied” where we will explore the energy of the goddess through myth, mantra, movement and music.

I would love for you to join us! Go to LoveShinePlay.com to register and see all the amazing offerings. If you’re signing up for the whole weekend (3 or 4 days) use the code “neighborhood2024” and you’ll receive 15% off the ticket price. If you can’t make the whole weekend, single day tickets can also be purchased.

I hope you’ll consider joining us this year for the festival. It’s going to be a joy-filled event! In the meantime, I hope to see you in the Neighborhood.

Valerie, Studio Owner

Join activist, author, intuitive healer & yoga teacher Michelle Cassandra Johnson for a workshop and book reading, discussion, and signing focused on her newest book, Illuminating Our True Nature.

In this workshop, Michelle will discuss the kleshas from yoga philosophy, mental states that cause suffering, individually and collectively. We will then try some practices to work with these kleshas in order to decrease suffering.

Wednesdays Evenings

Just a reminder about our donation-based outdoor yoga in the Daniel Boone Native Gardens! Every Wednesday evening at 6 p.m. (weather permitting of course). Watch us for updates on FB & IG!

This Wednesday, Erin is teaching. July 24 and 31, Paul!

Fourth Fridays
