Curb Painting by Canning Hunger |
City of Los Alamitos residents will soon receive curb painting services that will include a City logo and their street address. This free service is optional for residents and will be performed by Canning Hunger, a non-profit hunger relief organization. As such, residents may remit a voluntary donation of $30 intended to help feed a family of 4 for an entire week. All donations are tax-deductible and can be made by check or online at canninghunger.org. For any questions or concerns related to this project, please contact Greg Contopulos from Canning Hunger at 1-888-354-3663.
Work will begin the week of February 26 in various parts of the City, weather permitting.

Calling All Pickleballers |
It's pickle time! We’ve heard your requests; pickleball is back! Join us every other Thursday, beginning February 29, at Laurel Park (10862 Bloomfield St., Los Alamitos) for Drop-in Pickleball from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. The cost is $5 per person, and participants must be 18+.
Bring a friend, a squad, or come solo to court #4. All skill levels are welcome, and on-site instruction will be available. Equipment will be provided, but please feel free to bring your own. We can’t wait to see you and have a smashing time together!

Calling All Performers
Make sure to save the date for Weekend of Art, a two-day visual and performing arts exhibition for all ages! Weekend of Art will occur on Saturday, March 16, and Sunday, March 17, at the Oak Middle School Multi-Purpose Room.
Performance applications are due no later than March 1, and late applications will not be accepted. Performance applications are available online at the link in our bio or at the Los Alamitos Community Center – Building Two (10909 Oak Street, Los Alamitos). Space is limited.

Spring is almost here; we are so excited to announce that the online 2024 City of Los Alamitos Spring brochure is available now! There are so many amazing new classes, events, seasonal activities, and programs for the community to discover. | Los Alamitos Aquatics is Year Round | Lap Swim Information - Lap Swim is available for participants 15 and over; if participants are 18 and under, they must be accompanied by an adult. Lap swim is open on Saturday and Sunday from 11:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. Reservations are recommended to guarantee a spot, walk-ins are welcome based on available space. No on-site cash payments. Reservation spots will open one week in advance on the Monday prior to your desired date. | Los Al Youth Track & Field | Run into the spring season with the City of Los Alamitos Co-ed Youth Track and Field program! This six-week program will occur on Mondays at the Oak Middle School Track from April 9 – May 14. The program will cover various track and field techniques and events led by Recreation Staff. All skill levels are welcome; the program is a great introduction to Track and Field events. The last session of the program will entail a Track & Field Meet where participants will compete amongst each other for top place finishes in various events such as the 50m, 100m, 200m, and Long Jump. 4th-8th grade will compete in the 400m and 800m, depending on skill level. Join us for drop-in play year-round on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays at the Oak Middle School Gym (10821 Oak St.). Whether it is your first time playing or you are a seasoned pro, this program is an excellent opportunity to increase your skillset through friendly and fun competition.
In addition to drop-in play, league play is seasonal. The next season will be available on Wednesdays (7:30 p.m. – 10:30 p.m.) from February 21 – April 10. League play consists of grouped competition based on skill level. Participants can improve their skill rating as the league progresses. The top four finalists from each division in the league will compete in a playoff on Wednesday, April 24.
