Children in Foster Care

Current number: 3,054

While our workshop is temporarily closed, pick up your sponsored kits or drop off completed blankets in the donation bin by our front door.

When you drop off finished blankets in our brown bin…PLEASE make sure you include a note inside the bag with your blankets to let us know who made them. We keep track of this in our donation log book and add it to our 2020 Blanket Giving Goal!

Order "no-sew" fleece blanket kits for only $10 to be sent to your home or picked up at our workshop. Contact us to help you get in touch with your local children's services or foster care agency.
With our partner's help, we're still sending blankets out!
During this social distancing time, we are still sending blankets out to case workers, children’s services and agencies so when their visits happen with the children, they will still receive “their very own blanket” to hang onto!
We are very grateful for our partnership with UnitedHealthcare Community Plan of Ohio for their consistent and generous help with our shipping needs. They help us get blankets into the hands of children in foster care AND help us ship blanket kits to people outside Central Ohio who want to make our “no-sew” fleece blankets to deliver to children in care in their areas. Many thanks, UnitedHealthcare!
Coronavirus and Children in Care
There were more than 16,000 children in foster care in Ohio on January 1, 2020. Rita Soronen, president of The Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption says many of them may be vulnerable during the coronavirus pandemic.
