2023 CPT changes in effect; register for an AMA webinar
The American Medical Association's CPT update went into effect on Jan. 1. The CPT update involves 225 new codes, 93 revisions and 75 deletions, including changes that will impact primary care physicians who provide evaluation and management (E/M) services in hospitals, homes and nursing facilities. One news outlet reported that the update will reduce administrative burden.
The AMA will host a free webinar on Jan. 18, 2023, from 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. MST, that will help you understand how Current Procedural Terminology (CPT®) codes respond to changes in the health care landscape, spark and spur innovation, and serve to advance health equity efforts. Registrants will learn how the CPT process works, from the CPT Editorial Panel through the participation of specialty societies and workgroups; and how you and your society can get involved to strengthen the collective voice of the CPT code set and its development process, now and in the future. Register here.
