Let us pray for George Floyd and all victims of violence, racism, and hate. Let us pray for our country, that we may root out racism, seek reconciliation and understanding, and truly recognize one another as brothers and sisters.
If anyone says, “I love God,” but hates his brother, he is a liar; for whoever does not love a brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen. This is the commandment we have from him: whoever loves God must also love his brother. (I John 4:20-21)
God of justice,
you adorned the human race
with a marvelous diversity,
and you clothed each of its members
with a dignity
that may never be diminished.
Instill in us respect for that dignity,
that we may always champion for others
the justice we seek for ourselves.
Through Christ our Lord.
