Spring Break With A GRAND Purpose For Jesus' Sake

Our Purdue FCA athletes spent their Spring Break once again serving the kids and workers of Bethesda Orphan Outreach in Hammanskraal, South Africa.  5 young men came back to Purdue blessed by the time they spent there.  One of them came back wonderfully transformed by God's grace with a new vision to live as the Lord would have him live.  He came up to me last week and asked, "Marty, could I go again in May?"  Of course I said NO....NOT!!!  He is signed up for May and the Lord has already provided his funds!  God is so faithful!  I know most people go on mission trips thinking about what can be done for others...but I go with great anticipation at what God is going to do in the lives of our Purdue athletes!  I am never disappointed!  "Great is the Lord and greatly to be praised!"
Student Athlete Spotlight

Corey Beck - Student Assistant Coach working with the Boilermaker offense.

FCA has been a source of spiritual growth and stability for me throughout my time at Purdue. The work that Marty Dittmar does as the Athletic Chaplain has given me and countless others so many opportunities to, not only grow in our faith, but to encourage others in Christ as well.
Through my involvement in FCA, I've had the opportunity to travel to South Africa to serve others while also experiencing God's immense power and love in a way that I hadn't seen before.  The mission trip was life changing!
Additionally, my weekly discipleship meetings with Marty have been a constant source of spiritual strength through reading the Word and prayer.
FCA has a tremendous impact at Purdue and has had an incredible influence on me personally.

Corey will be leaving Purdue in May to become an an Offensive Graduate Assistant Coach at Duke.  He will be working directly with the Offensive Coordinator and Quarterbacks.  (He will also be an Ambassador for Jesus and FCA!).

Out to the Ballgame

Baseball is in FCA's blood. More than 60 years ago, founder Don McClanen worked with some of baseball's greats to make FCA become reality. Today, and with the start of the baseball season this month, many MLB big-leaguers are still involved with FCA, such as Kyle Gibson, Adrian Gonzalez, Chase Headley, Clayton Kershaw, Andrew McCutchen and Ben Zobrist.

"FCA provides opportunities for kids to hear about God, and then go and tell someone else, and it will continue down the line. I'm thankful to FCA and love to help in any way I can because of the impact they are having."

- Andrew McCutchen, Pittsburgh Pirates
