Giving Your Story The Time It Needs

Producer Debbie Mitchell talks long-form video for your digital marketing

I often discuss using short or long-form video content in your digital marketing strategy as a conduit for your customer's journey. Why?

It allows your customers to experience you as an industry business thought leader in an entertaining, informative, and authentic way. Many times from the comfort of their home computer or mobile device.

While short-form video content is suitable in many cases, quick and easy to videotape even on your cell phone, live streaming or video podcasting is a better option. It is perfect for a business or an individual seeking a convenient, cost-effective, and engaging way to connect with your customers while growing your audience.

Who will watch your livestream? The customers, friends, and family who already follow you on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, and X(formerly Twitter). In addition, as a bonus, East Orlando Chamber of Commerce members, your live stream will include streams to EOCC social media followers (Now, that's a big audience!), allowing you to reach an even broader audience!!

As an Emmy-nominated TV and multimedia executive producer, I specialize in collaborative video content development and storytelling utilized in various platforms on the internet as well as traditional network broadcast content. I am partial to long-form content. This form of storytelling allows you to spend more time delving into your story, which is pre-produced into specific talking points to guide your storytelling. If you decide to host your live-stream show solo, with a co-host, or you invite several guests to join you in the conversation, everyone will have more than enough time to tell their point of view in a relaxed and engaging way with the audience in real-time. Q&A is a must!

But best of all, the long-form video content can be repurposed as short-form videos to post on your social media platforms in the future. Remember, every social media platform requires different lengths of video content and has a unique audience, so customize your snippets of long-form video.

If you need a bigger budget for a producing team like ours but still want to get your feet wet in the live-streaming pool, produce it yourself. I can give you the information you need and help you through the process. You might have to juggle a few production balls, but I assure you, it is doable, at least to get started.
