Important Dates

Dear Students, Parents, and Staff,

As we reach the last day of school, I want to take a moment to reflect on the incredible journey we've had this year. From exciting lessons and fun-filled activities to the growth and achievements of each student, it's been a memorable year for our school community.

To our amazing students, you have shown resilience, creativity, and a love for learning that has inspired us all. Each of you has grown in so many ways, and we are incredibly proud of your hard work and accomplishments. Enjoy your well-deserved summer break, stay curious, and keep exploring the world around you.

To our dedicated parents and guardians, thank you for your unwavering support and partnership. Your involvement has been crucial to our students' success, and we appreciate all that you do.

To our exceptional teachers and staff, your commitment to fostering a positive and enriching learning environment has made a significant impact on our students' lives. Your passion and dedication are truly commendable.

As we close this chapter and look forward to the next, I wish everyone a safe, relaxing, and enjoyable summer. Let's return in the fall with renewed energy and excitement for another fantastic year of learning and growth.

Dear Live Oak families,

I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to every single parent who generously donated and supported the Ed. Fund, helping us raise an impressive $172,837.28. To those who weren't able to contribute yet, please stop by at the on-site registration on Monday, Aug 12, and we can explain just how crucial the Ed. Fund is for your child's education at Live Oak.

As of May, with smart spending, we've allocated approximately $90,355 towards crucial areas like Para, art, science, school supplies, copiers, and various other activities with $82,482 left to cover the pending invoices.

I'm immensely proud to share that the majority of the Ed. Fund committee comprised of new members who were working full-time, yet dedicatedly contributed to enriching our children's education during the 2023-2024 school year. Huge shout out to Joe Li, Jenny Lee, Emma Amaya, Sudha Immaneni, Anum Bashir and Shikha Goyal.

I'd like to highlight some of our top achievements:

• We recalibrated the 2024-2025 Commitment Letter based on declining enrollments and Prob 28 Funds, the contribution amount from $162,705 to $81,163. This translates to a much lower amount that we need to ask the parents to contribute.

• We fostered transparency through weekly forums involving the school, PTA, and Ed. Fund team.

• We launched a new Instagram page, reactivated our Facebook page, and established @srvef.org emails to preserve and pass on all historical conversations.

• Additionally, we implemented various improvements such as weekly meetings with the principal, website updates, transaction plans, QR codes for donations, recruitments, and establishing business directories for sponsors and donations

.

A special thank you goes out to all the volunteers who selflessly supported school and community activities. Your dedication is truly commendable.

Spirit Wear Design Contest - Results

We received 11 entries in total and 0 entries for the fifth grade spirit wear. While we received some interesting ones, only a handful of them adhered to the overall requirements mentioned, so we have decided to not announce the winners and consider everyone who participated as a winner. We will be taking most of the submitted ideas into consideration and club them to come up with the final spirit wear designs for the upcoming year. Everyone who participated will receive a certificate! Students can pick the certificates up from their teachers on Wednesday, June 5.
