Weigh in on the Future of Lexington's Waste Collection | |
|
The Town is working to cut down the amount of local waste ending up in landfills by encouraging participation in recycling and composting programs. Through Lexington's Zero Waste Plan, the Town strives to reach a 90% diversion rate of local waste by 2050.
So how can you contribute? Take this survey!
The survey should only take 5 to 10 minutes to complete, and will allow you to share your thoughts on the following topics:
- Expanding curbside compost collection town-wide
- Converting to automated curbside collection with wheeled carts
- Evaluating every-other-week trash collection
- Evaluating rate structure incentives for curbside collection
- Providing more reuse collection
Please complete the survey by April 12, so we can make good use of your feedback.
The survey was designed by a team of Tufts University graduate students in the Department of Urban and Environmental Policy and Planning. The group's semester-long research project will culminate in recommendations for the Town on how they can change their waste collection system and achieve waste reduction.
