LINK TO HOPE NEWSLETTER
Kentucky CancerLink is a non-profit organization whose mission is to reduce and/or eliminate barriers to screening, diagnosis, and treatment of cancer. We work alongside Kentuckians in need of life-saving cancer screenings or in need of support while on a cancer journey. We strive to be a link to hope...
Greetings from the Executive Director
Hi Friends,

Thanks for reading this month's newsletter!

We are in full swing of planning our 9th annual Links to Hope golf scramble that will be at Keene Trace - Keene Run Golf Course again this year. We still have spots for teams and sponsors and would love to host you on September 19, 2023. It is my favorite day of the year and would love to have you be a part of it! Just reach out to Melanie - melanieh@kycancerlink.org

I am thankful for you - and I appreciate you following along with our mission. Together we can be a link to hope to our friends and neighbors in Kentucky as they experience a cancer diagnosis.

Have a safe and happy Fourth of July.

Cheers!

Melissa

Out & About
This year, our KCL team decided to divide & conquer on Friday, June 2nd, while Melanie, KCL's director of community outreach, attended the cancer survivor celebration at Baptist Health Lexington, Syrena, our KCL program assistant, attended the UK Expressions of Courage cancer survivor celebration event at Kroger Field. We love our healthcare partnerships and always look forward to these meaningful events honoring survivors and their caregivers.
Melanie, our director of community outreach, attended the Harrison County health fair hosted by Harrison Memorial Hospital on Thursday, June 1st. The event was attended by over 150 community members and several healthcare professionals.

We love events with our community partners!
Melissa and Melanie recently traveled to Louisville to record a Link to Hope podcast with our friends at Run Switch PR on June 6th. Virtual recordings work great, but being in the studio was so much fun!
Ginger, one of KCL's bilingual patient navigators, and Melanie, our director of community outreach had the opportunity to speak to "Lazos de Amor" ladies' group in Lexington on June 17. Ginger spoke to the group about cancer screening guidelines and the importance of early detection especially for cervical and breast cancer and education on the Kentucky Women's Cancer Screening Program. We are always grateful for the opportunity to share impactful information and the work that we do within our community.
Our executive director, Melissa, attended Toyota Tsusho's employee golf tournament on June 23rd where she accepted a generous donation for our Missy's Mission fund, named in honor of past board president, Missy Jolliff. Thank you, Toyota Tsusho, for your continued support and for being a link to hope for Kentuckians through Missy's legacy.
