Berroco Liana
Linen and nylon combine to create the silky feel of Berroco Liana! This DK-weight yarn works up loosely for lightweight summer garments and accessories, with beautiful variegated colors. You're going to love the look and feel of this yarn, especially for those with wool sensitivities.
We love this shawl knitted with 4 skeins of Liana. 3 of one color and one of a contrasting color.
The pattern is available individually or in the Liana booklet that contains 6 different patterns!
Lang Mulberry Silk
Enjoy the luxury of 100% silk with this easy-care yarn! Available in a variety of Beautiful colors, Lang Mulberry Silk can be used as a sport weight up to a DK. It's perfect for scarves, shawls, and any garment where you want lots of drape along with the softness of silk.

Because it's a chainette construction, you get great yardage of approximatly 158 yards per 50 gram ball!

Yes, it's 100% Silk and it's machine washable!
3 balls of this delightful silk will make one of our favorite go-to free patterns, the Linus. Shown here in a self-striping yarn, this pattern looks great in a solid as well.
If you want a lovely striping yarn for the pattern, try 2 balls of Millefiore Light Luxe from Berroco, an acrylic/wool/nylon blend with a little 'bling' for that touch of sparkle in your project.
Conarroe Crochet Scarf Class

Hello, crocheters! Summer is winding down, the evenings are getting cooler, and we’ve got a class for you!
The original pattern has instructions for seaming the ends that give the piece some unique styling options, and we’ve got a couple more ideas for possible variations, including how you can make two short bandana cowls instead of one long scarf.

We’ll cover seaming techniques, how to modify the size, and help you build confidence in reading patterns. We’ll show you our preferred method for working into your foundation chain, but you’ll need to already know the basic skills of single and double crochet.

The class will come with 2 skeins of Manos Alegria in your choice of color as well as the pattern!

This is an on-line class using Zoom technology so you don't have to be anywhere near Cambria to join us!
Unfamiliar with Alegria? Want to ask about the class? Join us this Thursday, August 13th, for our Zoom party all about Alegria!
As we're sure you’ve heard us say before, we’re the USA’s most complete retailer of Manos del Uruguay, stocking all of their yarns in every color. But with all this beautiful yarn hanging around everywhere, we wondered if some of them might be overlooked from time to time.

With that in mind, we're starting a Monthly Manos program, where each month we highlight one special yarn in the store and in our newsletter. Every month we’ll have a variety of floor models using the special Monthly Manos yarn which is a small sampling of the beautiful patterns available for all of their yarn lines.

On the first Thursday of the month we’ll host a special Thursday Evening Zoom get together where we'll give you a virtual tour and review of the models we chose for the month, as well as go into more depth about the characteristics of the yarn itself. We hope you’ll follow along and join us in celebrating all the unique yarns Manos del Uruguay has to offer!

For August, we’re highlighting Alegria, Manos’s classic sock yarn, comprised of 75% Superwash Merino and 25% Polyamide. It's a durable, soft, and machine washable yarn which is available in a huge variety of hand dyed colors. Each skein of Alegria comes in generous 445 yard skeins! The sky’s the limit with this gorgeous fingering weight yarn, and we’ve got six models in the shop to showcase just a tiny sampling of the possibilities.

Since 1968, Manos del Uruguay has transformed the lives of women all over Uruguay. Manos is a Certified Fair-Trade yarn produced by a women's cooperative in Uruguay.

We're proud to stock every yarn Manos makes in every color. We think you'll love it as much as we do.

Happy Stitching!
Dorrago Scarf
Knit with 2 skeins of Manos del Uruguay Alegria, This beautiful scarf, designed by Jocelyn Tunney, begins with the central cable column worked from the top edge down to the lower point. Stitches are picked up along each side of the column and worked outward to the ends in two decreasing “wings.” After completing the wings, stitches are picked up along the upper and lower edges for working the garter stitch borders.
