Introducing our Summer Intern
Meet Ellen Haschak, our Summer Intern for Children and Youth Programs. Ellen grew up in Easton, Pennsylvania and graduated from the University of Delaware with a Bachelor of Science degree in Spanish Education. She studied abroad in Madrid over the summer of 2009 and currently works at Sanford School in Hockessin, as a Spanish educator in grades 4 through 9. She works to collaborate and write curriculum planning diverse lessons that incorporate technology and Spanish culture. Ellen enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She spends most of her weekends visiting with her niece and newborn nephew or hiking with her dogs. Ellen has two rescue dogs, Riley and Rafiqi. Ellen has a strong passion for animals, as she grew up on a small farm. In her free time, she enjoys traveling to new places (near or far), walking around festivals, and attending concerts. Here at Red Clay she will be working primarily with David Florence and the Nurture Committee to build strong leadership teams in Children and Youth Ministry.

Support for Kristen
Kristen Reisor will be graduating from the University of Delaware in May and will spend the next year working in New Orleans as a Young Adult Volunteer (YAV). This is a branch of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). She will be living in a house with 7 other YAV volunteers, and will receive a monthly stipend to cover rent, transportation, and food. With volunteer work comes fundraising. Her goal is to raise $4,000 before her start date at the beginning of September. However, that is about 10% of her costs as a Young Adult Volunteer. Anything raised above $4,000 will be used to support Kristen throughout her YAV year. If you would like to make a donation, you can send checks made out to: Presbytery of South Louisiana (please put the name Kristen Reisor on the memo line). Mail to: NOLA YAV, PO Box 8666, New Orleans, LA, 70182.

Red Clay Tips
The community's space for sharing helpful information about life at RCCPC.
Ink Cartridge Recycling: Red Clay participates in the Staples Rewards program. For each used ink cartridge or toner cartridge, Red Clay receives a $2 credit on future purchases. We are permitted to turn in 20 cartridges per month which is a credit of $45 per month. All of our office supplies, including bulletin paper, ink cartridges, Sunday School supplies, etc. are purchased from Staples. Every donated used cartridge helps reduce our office supply costs. Please bring used cartridges to the Church Office or place them in the labeled box in Founders Hall.
Zingo's Receipts: When you shop at Zingos, keep your receipt and drop it off at the red can on the cookie table in Founders Hall. With your receipt, Zingos will donate 1% toward our kitchen fund.
Cemetery Parking.
Sometimes parked cars cause damage to the turf along the driveways in the Cemetery. The Cemetery Board asks that cars not be parked or driven on the grass beside graves. Also, please refrain from parking on the grass when the ground is soft from rain.
Medical Equipment Closet. Our congregation has medical equipment available for loan including walkers, canes, crutches, commodes, shower seats, wheelchairs etc. Always open to donations, too. To donate or borrow, call Valerie Kratunis at 302.239.7954.
Chancel Flower Dedications. Occasions to give flowers may include: anniversary, baptism, birth, birthday, graduation, holiday, promotion, retirement, sympathy, wedding. Order forms for Chancel Flowers are available in the narthex and the Church Office. Dates are determined on a first come, first serve basis. Cost is $45.
