OPPORTUNITIES FROM GHA

Greensboro Housing Authority is excited to announce the 2024 Summer Design Program! This Summer program is available for elementary and middle school GHA residents, ages 8-13. Elementary and middle school students will participate in a 3-day program with trained program facilitators and trained high school facilitators. The program is FREE; however, registration is required. The Family Self-Sufficiency Program (FSS) is a voluntary program for households enrolled in Public Housing, Housing Choice Voucher, and Project-Based Voucher programs to help them increase their earnings and build financial capability and assets.

Immerse yourself in goo, gunk, and grit to create art and explore science. From water play and oobleck pools to foam parties and foot painting, there will be plenty of ooey, gooey, slimy messes to dive into. Activities will be outside in Liberty Plaza and inside the museum, and we’ll wind up the day with a Rockstar Bubbles Foam Party! Dress for mess and bring a towel and change of clothes.


Messtival is included with regular admission or membership. Save $5 per person regular admission when you buy early online at Kaleideum.org. (Online $10; day of $15.) Limited number of reservations, so PLEASE reserve your tickets in advance whether you are purchasing or reserving a free space as a member.

OPPORTUNITIES FOR FAMILIES:

CAREER & JOB OPPORTUNITIES:

Greensboro Housing Authority is excited to announce the 2024 Summer Design Program for High School Facilitators! This Summer program is available for high school GHA residents, ages 14-18. High school students will be trained on how to become a program facilitator and then have the opportunity to get hands-on experience while helping our elementary and middle school participants explore building designs and construction for a total of 7 weeks. The program is FREE; however, registration is required. GTCC's Forklift Train the Trainer course is taught by an OSHA-compliant Instructor. The Forklift Train the Trainer certification program provides you with everything you need to become OSHA-compliant and certified to conduct training and evaluations of forklift operators in-house. This course is for experienced forklift drivers. The course costs $124 and is taught on the Donald Cameron campus at 7908 Leabourne Road, Hwy 68 North in Colfax, N.C.
