[In Person] Vinyasa Power Yoga, with Colleen Macsuga (all levels)

Colleen Macsuga leads a Vinyasa class that is therapeutic, creative, and powerful. Vinyasa (a practice designed to help you heal while keeping you in peak physical shape) incorporates elements of strength building, making it a dynamic experience. If you have a yoga mat, please bring it with you. The library will have a limited number of mats available for use. All levels are welcome; each pose is guided from the foundation to the full expression.

[Online] Pollination Ecology: How We Can Help the Bees, with Larry Dapsis

Honey bee colonies, both locally and nationally, have been suffering catastrophic losses. During this Zoom program, entomologist Larry Dapsis will review honey bee biology and the factors responsible for these losses, and inform viewers about what they can do to help.

Add a festive and elegant touch to your home by learning how to make your very own wreath. This hands-on workshop will be taught by Programs Coordinator Emily Becker. [Online] Chef Look Cooks: Pumpkin Biscuits & Gravy with Dijon Roasted Butternut Squash & Brussels Sprouts

Leftovers and Thanksgiving are simply a match made in heaven. Join us as Chef Look dives into a fabulous breakfast-for-dinner rendition of biscuits and gravy. Accompanying pumpkin biscuits will be a tasty turkey bacon gravy. To bring it all together, he’ll roast butternut squash and Brussels sprouts, then glaze them with a dijon vinaigrette, which makes for a wonderful side that you can prepare for the big day as well.

[In Person] Open Mic Night at EPL

Calling all performance artists, musicians, and poets! The Edgartown Library will be hosting an open mic night on the last Wednesday of every month. This will be a space to practice, encourage, and connect with other artists. Come work on the performance of a new song, practice a monologue for an upcoming play, or tell a story you would like to share; there will even be room for movement to perform a dance piece. Or just come to watch, listen, support, and connect with our creative community. Performances will be capped at 8 minutes.


Registration is required for all performers.

Library Book Boxes

A monthly library subscription service

Book boxes are back! Want to find your next good book, plus get some cool items to keep? Sign up for the library's monthly subscription box for kids and teens ages 8+. Here's how it works:

  1. Fill out the subscription form on our website (the form will go live on November 15, with limited signups available).
  2. Wait. This is the hard part! Subscriptions will be filled at the beginning of each month.
  3. Pick up your Book Box at the library. Participants will receive an email when their box is ready for pickup. Each box will contain two library materials, and the rest is yours to keep.
  4. Return the library materials after a month, then fill out a new form to sign up for the next month!

Join us for this special truck-themed storytime! Listen to stories about trucks while playing with our selection of vehicles in the children's room garden space. Geared toward ages 1-5, but all are welcome.

Need to make room for new toys this holiday season? Bring new or gently used toys that your kids have outgrown, and swap with other families. This is a great way to recycle toys and reduce waste. Please note: No drop-offs are allowed, and please bring home what you don't swap. Toys for all ages are encouraged.

Drop by the Children's Room crafting area and create a different project every week. Children under 8 must be accompanied by an adult caregiver.


Join us for a special Thanksgiving centerpiece Make It Monday craft on Nov. 21: We will provide the supplies to make your own centerpiece for the Thanksgiving table.

Play-Doh Group

Create and play using our collection of Play-Doh and sculpting toys in the Children's Room. Children under 8 must be accompanied by an adult caregiver.

[In Person] Fit Camp with Bonnie Kingsbury

Wednesdays

3:15pm - 4:15pm

Kids can get their bodies moving on Wednesday afternoons on the library lawn, weather permitting. This after-school youth fitness program will offer healthy activities incorporating simple cardio, agility, and mind over matter drills. No registration necessary. For kids 8 and older.

Join Elyce in the Program Room for a movement-based storytime using fun props and interactive stories. This program is geared toward ages 1-5, but all are welcome.

Come play board games with your friends in the children's room every Friday after school. Play old favorites, or try something new! Children under 8 must be accompanied by an adult caregiver.

Story Walk at Sheriff’s Meadow Sanctuary

The Edgartown Library and Sheriff’s Meadow Foundation have partnered to bring you a story walk every month.

This self-guided activity takes place at the Sheriff's Meadow Sanctuary and is for children of all ages and their caregivers.

You can enjoy the library's WiFi from the comfort of your car in both of our parking lots, or, when the weather agrees, outdoors, where there is plenty of seating.

Inkjet Cartridge Recycling Program
Support our local Vineyard League by recycling ink jet cartridges. The League of Women Voters of Martha’s Vineyard has drop boxes for collecting used printer inkjet cartridges in all six towns, including at the Edgartown Library. Cartridges are sent to a recycler, keeping them out of landfills. Please note, inkjet cartridges are the only kind that can be accepted.
