September marks the beginning of Library Card Sign-up Month, an annual initiative of the American Library Association. It's a time to celebrate libraries and the services we provide, and what better way to do that than to urge your friends and family get a library card? We've even got a handy link to help out below!

Genealogy Roadshow

Coming to a Library near you!


Bull Street Library may be closed for a few months, meaning our Georgia Room will be inaccessible. But in the meantime, come learn from Genealogy Librarian Linda Bridges at a series of presentations at libraries around the system.


  • Introduction to Genealogy: Learn the basics of genealogy and find out about helpful resources you can access online and in the library’s collections.


  • Intermediate Genealogy: We’ll expand on our GEN 101 presentation of Ancestry Library Edition and other resources and research techniques to help you dig a little deeper into your family history research.


  • African American Genealogy: Find out about library and online resources that will help you trace your roots and fill out your family tree. Pick up some tips that can make your research more efficient and productive.

Oglethorpe Mall Library Re-opens


The repairs to Oglethorpe Mall Library's HVAC unit have been completed, and starting Monday, September 11, the library has resumed normal hours. Thank you so much for your patience, and we can't wait to see you again!

Bull Street Library Roof Replacement


Bull Street Library is undergoing roof replacement work that will continue through December 2023. There will be an interruption of library services, including a temporary closure of the building beginning on September 18. We appreciate your patience with this renovation process.
