“We are so excited to collaborate with Live Oak Public Libraries through the Passport Membership Program,” says Nora Fleming Lee, Chief Executive Officer of Coastal Heritage Society. “We look forward to welcoming the public to visit our engaging and educational historic sites as a family.”
Coastal Heritage Society museum locations offer engaging experiences, both indoors and out of doors.
Three museums are located in downtown Savannah in Tricentennial Park. Savannah History Museum highlights the city’s rich history from its founding; next door is Battlefield Memorial Park which is open to visitors year-round and commemorates the 1779 Battle of Savannah. Savannah Children’s Museum offers open-air exhibits inviting children to explore and learn through play. Georgia State Railroad Museum, housed in the Central of Georgia Railway Repair Shops Complex, is a National Historic Landmark featuring an operational turntable and daily guided programming.
Old Fort Jackson, also a National Historic Landmark, is located along the Savannah River and offers daily cannon firings and interactive programs. Pin Point Heritage Museum is located on the banks of the Moon River in southside Savannah and celebrates the Gullah/Geechee culture and community.
