Just Show Up!
"This is the experience I'm having now"
I believe I expressed this thought in a previous newsletter but it bears repeating---as do many things in our busy world. We get distracted so easily and can forget even what we had for breakfast that morning... see---my point is being demonstrated right now... Let me get back to the story. A vivid memory comes to mind often of lying on the beach, resting on the sand, gazing out to the water, listening to people talking, the waves crashing, and seagulls squawking, smelling the salt air and feeling the breeze blow my hair and cool my body. In the moment while enjoying the experience of all of these sensations this thought came to mind: "This is the experience I'm having now." I reminded myself of the beauty of each moment and the impermanence of all things and experiences.
Many times when planning a vacation I think about how I could choose to do other things rather than go on vacation like take time off of work and do some chores around the house. Then I think what will I remember more? The few extra days I took off to have a cleaner house or the great experience and memory of the trip.
TRY THIS: Right now, close your eyes and bring to mind a wonderful vacation you took. Where did you go? Who was there? What did you see, and do? How did you feel? Happy? Energized? Relaxed? Bring to mind all of the things you saw, the people you were with, talked to or met, and all of the experiences you had. Use all of your senses to bring yourself right back there!
How was it? Aren't you glad you took that trip? Aren't you glad you have the memories stored in your memory bank to access anytime? We also have access to the difficult, upsetting and even traumatic experiences from our past that may pop up anytime as we navigate the world, people, relationships and more. All of these are what makes us human.
At Liberty Yoga we are exploring ways to notice our minds, thoughts, memories and imagination focusing on stillness to observe the thoughts: mind, body, and emotions.
I began this message with the idea of "Just Show Up" because you never know what your experience will be. There are so many opportunities to engage in so don't let a day go by without learning something new, greeting people, listening to your body, giving yourself what you need and living your life to the fullest!

WE had a fabulous Happy and Healthy event on Friday! Thanks to all who participated in making and eating food and playing games! Good times!!!
MELT!! The NEXT event is Tuesday March 5! Many of you have expressed interest in the Intro to MELT Event which is a focus on releasing stuck stress with rollers and balls. MELT will work on the fascia to release tension and tightness. You will be amazed and surprised and how amazing you will feel afterwards!! PLEASE REGISTER today so we can hold the event (A minimum number required for it to run!)
