North Coast Highway 101 Leucadia Streetscape
Construction Update
Construction at Jupiter Street, along the Median and by SDG&E
The Jupiter Street intersection storm drain pipe construction will occur on the east side of North Coast Highway 101. This work requires that the northbound lane be moved slightly to the west for a length of approximately 300 feet. Concrete barriers will be placed along this route with other traffic control devices to direct traffic. The median work is scheduled to continue with the excavation of the curb area and the placement of the new curb with an extruding machine. Some areas near the large trees will have the curbs formed manually to protect the tree roots. A communications line is anticipated to be installed beginning the week on May 6th.
SDG&E has been working at the intersection of Grandview Street and North Coast Hwy 101 relocating a gas line that will allow for a drainage inlet at the north gutter on Grandview Street. SDG&E will also be working on a gas valve at Moorgate Road. The pavement on Grandview Street and Moorgate Road where the SDG&E’s work is occurring will be temporarily restored. The final pavement treatment will occur toward the end of the project.
Traffic control, such as cones and signs, will be set up within and around the construction zone between the hours of 7am and 5pm. Please expect intermittent lane shifts and lane closures, large construction equipment in the work zone, and temporary noise during this time. Drivers are reminded to follow all marked signage and travel through the area with extra caution for the safety of everyone, including crews, cyclists, pedestrians, and drivers.
