Starting at the opening reception of the ABI 2024 Annual Spring Meeting, the Gavin/Solmonese team will be eager to greet our colleagues. If you're relatively new to ABI, or this is your first Annual Spring Meeting, please say hello to our team members and we'll introduce you to other attendees. We enjoy nothing more than helping everyone get to know one another – our profession works, and our careers have blossomed, because of the relationships formed at events like this.

This year is very special for us because our friend and colleague from Polsinelli, Chris Ward, will be sworn in as ABI’s new President. As Stan Mastil said, "The highlight of the Annual Spring Meeting for me will be watching my good friend Chris get inducted as President of ABI. He has worked tirelessly for the organization and will provide outstanding leadership for the year ahead."
This is special for me, as well. Chris’s earliest work in ABI leadership was working with me on the Financial Advisors and Investment Banking Committee – that work led to a book of which we are included among the coauthors, “The CRO’s Guide to Bankruptcy," and a long and successful term of service for ABI during which both Chris and I served as Vice President, Development and, later, as President of the organization. I’m excited to be present for the passing of the gavel to the last of my line of ABI leaders, ready to light the way for the next generation.

As a proud sponsor of the President's Inauguration Dinner, the entire G/S team looks forward to ringing in the start of Chris Ward's term with him and his wife, Christine (a Gavin/Solmonese alumnus and, also part of our family), their kids, and with those of you who will be in attendance.

Meeting Lineup:
This year's lineup of general sessions, networking events, and plenary sessions is better than ever. Here's what our team is looking forward to attending.

Ted Gavin CTP, NCPM
Managing Director & Founding Partner
On Thursday, I'll be starting the conference by attending the memorial service for ABI member (and former ABI VP-International), Indubitable Equivalent, and my friend George Kelakos, followed by the opening reception.
I'm looking forward to hearing what today's thought leaders have to say at the ABI Talks, particularly the session which will discuss what's trending in Chapter 11, including new tools parties-in-interest and courts are turning to in restructuring.
Other sessions I plan to attend include "Advanced Fraud-Based Litigation and Uncovering Hidden Assets," "Case Conversion Strategies: What Works and What Doesn't," and "Plenary Session: Subchapter V Task Force Report and Recommendations."
And then at the President's Inauguration Dinner, it is my great honor to introduce incoming ABI President Chris Ward (Polsinelli PC).

Stan Mastil, CFF, CPA
Managing Director, Bankruptcy & Fiduciary Services
I'll be heading to DC on Thursday for the opening reception. The best part of the Annual Spring Meeting is reconnecting with friends, many of whom I've known and worked with for over two decades.
On Friday you'll find me attending the "Whatever Happened to DIP Financing?" panel discussion to ensure my CRO clients have financing options. Later, I’ll be at the "Plenary Session: Subchapter V Task Force Report and Recommendations."
Most importantly, I will attend the President's Inauguration Dinner to toast my good friend Chris Ward as he starts his term as ABI President. Cheers to Chris!

Senior Director, Valuation & Litigation Consulting
Spring is in the air, and that means only one thing—a return to DC for ABI's Annual Spring Meeting.
Once again, the ABI has outdone itself in creating an excellent program. I'm especially looking forward to the sessions discussing fraud and cross-border recovery, but I'm also eager to hear the report and recommendations on Subchapter V. And of course, I'll be there for all the IWIRC events.
This year I will be especially happy to see our good friend Chris Ward assume his duties as the president of ABI. Congratulations, Chris! Looking forward to seeing all of my restructuring friends in DC!

Managing Director, Corporate Recovery
For me, it's a three-day trip starting with the opening reception on Thursday.
I'm fascinated by the incredible advances in AI technology, so look for me in the "AI as a New Tool" presentation following the "Advanced Fraud-Based Litigation and Uncovering Hidden Assets" panel discussion.
I'm looking forward to the hearing from the "How Do We Get to Valuation" panel and "Working Together: Collaboration Between Secured Creditors and Unsecured Constituents."

Golf is first up on Thursday at the ABI Golf Tournament taking place at the beautiful Renditions Golf Course. I'm looking forward to having time to catch up with good friends and colleagues on the links.
On Friday, I'll start out at “What's New in Chapter 11," followed by "Whatever Happened to DIP Financing?" Also on my agenda is to attend both sessions discussing Subchapter V.
You will find me at the presentation on unique asset sale issues in health care, and then at "How Do We Get to Valuation." I'll wrap up with "Working Together: Collaboration Between Secured Creditors and Unsecured Constituents."
