Let's Celebrate SEL Day 2024!

5th Annual SEL Day

Today’s Students, Tomorrow’s Leaders

March 8, 2024

What to do for SEL Day!

The big idea for SEL Day is to celebrate and share the great SEL work you are doing to support your students and colleagues not only on SEL Day but every day! On March 8th we want to share this with the world!

All you need to do is:

  • Create an artifact (i.e. a photo, video, TikTok, etc.)
  • Share this on March 8th on any and all social media platforms of your choice
  • Be sure to tag #SEL4NJ and #SELDAY
  • Share with your colleagues - we would love to have every classroom in the school sharing something on SEL Day!

The School Culture and Climate Initiative helps schools become learning environments that are positive and engaging for all, and where the development of a student’s social, emotional, and physical well-being is equally as important as their academic achievement.

We look forward to providing you with helpful resources and professional development opportunities. Contact us to find out how the School Culture and Climate Initiative can help in your school/district! Let's build a partnership!

The Academy for SEL in Schools, a partnership between Rutgers University and Saint Elizabeth University, offers certificate programs for educators and educational leaders in social-emotional and character development.

The mission of the certificate program is to prepare school leaders to coordinate SEL implementation efforts at the building and/or district level. The program emphasizes school climate, culture, values, leadership, student voice/engagement, and SEL skills development; it is designed for people who are in formal or informal school leadership positions.
