OHIO CHAMBER PRIORITY LEGISLATION IS FIRST BILL TO REACH GOV. DEWINE'S DESK THIS YEAR
Following another unanimous vote – this time from the Ohio House – Senate Bill 13 (SB 13) becomes the first piece of legislation to reach Governor DeWine’s desk in the 134th General Assembly.

BWC BOARD OF DIRECTORS GIVES APPROVAL TO LOWER PRIVATE EMPLOYER PREMIUMS
On Friday morning, the Bureau of Workers’ Compensation (BWC) Board of Directors approved the staff recommendation to lower private employer premiums by 7.1% in the upcoming policy year which begins July 1, 2021.

OVERLY BURDENSOME SOLAR AND WIND REFERENDUM BILLS RECEIVE FIRST HEARINGS
This year, the Ohio Chamber of Commerce’s Energy & Environment Committee established a list of public policy priorities, one of which outlines the importance of “removing barriers to entry and pushing back against new barriers to entry for all energy sources.”

UPDATE: REGULATORY REFORM MEASURE CLEARS SENATE COMMITTEE

On February 24, the Ohio Senate Government Oversight and Reform Committee passed Senate Bill 9 by a vote of 4-2. With today’s action, it is our hope that the bill will receive a full Senate vote in the near future.
