OHIO NOW ALLOWING ON-SITE VACCINATION IN YOUR WORKPLACE
Beginning last week, Ohio entered what it is calling Phase 2D of its COVID-19 vaccine distribution plan. Phase 2D now makes the COVID-19 vaccine available in Ohio to anyone who chooses to receive it. Previously, due to a limited supply of vaccine doses the state was receiving, it was reserved for certain high-risk groups based on age, occupation, residence, or medical history.

REDISTRICTING 2021: BUCKLE UP!
For the 2020 election, some candidates for the Ohio General Assembly jumped in with official campaigns as early as January 2019. The frequency of new names and campaigns, or elected officials looking to run for another office, ramped up steadily over the course of that year heading into the primary election filing deadline in December.

OHIO SENATE HEARS TESTIMONY ON BILL PROMOTING COMMON-SENSE CIVIL JUSTICE SYSTEM
On March 31, the Ohio Senate Judiciary Committee heard sponsor testimony on a bill supported by the Ohio Chamber that would curb a growing industry known as third party litigation financing.

OHIO CHAMBER TESTIFIES IN SUPPORT OF BILL TO MODERNIZE OHIO'S OVERTIME LAWS
Before the Senate Ways and Means Committee on March 31, the Ohio Chamber shared their support for legislation that aims to modernize Ohio’s overtime statute to help employers who have hourly employees working from home. The bill – Senate Bill 47 – will aid employers by codifying important aspects of the federal Fair Labor Standards Act into Ohio law.

Last week, the Ohio Chamber joined our Metro Chamber Coalition in supporting Senate Bill 105; legislation that would require local political subdivisions to recognize state certifications for minority business enterprises (MBE).
