Women make up about half the workforce today in EMS - not so just a few short years ago.  Coupled with the demographic that there is a much smaller number of women serving in leadership positions in EMS than in other areas of healthcare - it is no surprise that there continues to be a high number of lawsuits involving discrimination and harassment against women.  There are new legal issues that have recently emerged involving women in the workplace that many EMS agencies are simply not aware of, or have not adequately addressed.

This timely webinar will tackle these critical issues head-on and help shed light on a very important legal topic.  Your agency can't afford to remain in the dark because the cost is just too high. In just one recent case of many, a female EMT received a $1 million settlement from her employer after allegations of unlawful harassment and discrimination.  All EMS agencies must know their legal obligations and how to comply with the myriad of laws that have increased in recent years to protect the rights of women in the workplace.  Attending this webinar will cover that and much more.

This webinar will address the legal issues - specific to women - that arise under the:

  • Fair Labor Standards Act
  • Pregnancy Discrimination Act
  • Americans with Disabilities Act
  • Affordable Care Act
  • Family and Medical Leave Act, and
  • Many other laws.

We will describe the current enforcement of these laws by the EEOC, DOL, and other government agencies.  Finally, we'll discuss the training that is necessary to "change the culture" to ensure that your EMS agency is a place where people feel they are respected and treated fairly - regardless of gender.

Join the attorneys of PWW for this first-of-its-kind webinar devoted exclusively to discussing the legal rights of women in the EMS workplace and the steps your agency must take to prevent liability. This topic is all new and has never before been addressed in an EMS webinar, so you don't want to miss this valuable program!
