Namaste Friends,
Above is a photo of the new Eitz Chayim Jewish Day School that Ezra Uganda Assistance has made possible through donations from generous folks around the globe. We are in the process of finishing the building, which will not only secure a legacy of Jewish learning in Namutumba, Uganda, but provide a desperately needed medical clinic for the village. People ask me all the time how and why I became involved with Ezra Uganda Assistance. It began with my deep and abiding friendship with Shadrach Mugoya Levi who was my classmate in the AOP Ordination program. Learning about his life, family and village of faithful black Jews in Namutumba, their struggles and their poverty, compelled me to get involved and make a difference. As Jews, that is what we are commanded to do.
Today, I'm asking you a simple favor. Please take a moment and donate any amount you can to my Birthday Fund Raiser in support of the school. Use the GREEN button above.
There is so much need there, and we, who have so much, must answer the call. How else can we enjoy all of the comforts and freedoms of life? I am forever grateful for the honor of using my day of birth to further the legacy of learning in Namutumba.
Last week I was ill, so I will again invite you to join me for the final class in our June series called "Angel Flow" as we invoke the power and protection from Kabbalistic teachings to guide us through life's challenges.
Many Blessings for Peace,
Reb Lisa
