February 2024

Message from Our Chamber President

Wow! The first month of 2024 has already passed; I can hardly believe it! If you are one who makes New Year’s resolutions, I hope that you are still dedicated to your resolution and getting closer to your goal.

Here at the Chamber, we kept busy as we started the year, hosting the State of the Community luncheon where we were able to hear updates about Grafton from representatives from the Village, Town, School District and Chamber. I always find these events to be so enlightening as we hear all of the events of the past year as well as the new plans and projects, explaining how Grafton continues to grow.

The Chamber announced at the State of the Community luncheon that they will be planning a celebration for Grafton’s zip code day – 5/30/24. I know that I’m excited to hear more about this event from the creative staff at the Chamber!

Other events that will be happening in the near future: a candidate forum for the Village trustees and the 4 under 40 awards. 4 under 40 was a new concept last year, celebrating young folks working in the community that are making an impact. Keep your eyes open for more information on how to nominate!

As we close out January and move into February, stay warm folks! Soon enough Spring will be in the air!

Lake Michigan SHIPWRECKS

A ghost ship, Lake Michigan’s own Titanic, a ship sunk by air pollution, a Spanish gunboat from the Spanish American war and a shipwreck connected to a civil rights murder, are just some of the fascinating stories you’ll hear during James Heinz’s presentation on Lake Michigan shipwrecks
