Technology companies have changed the way all businesses work.  Email, social media, and cloud based computing (to name a few), dominate our workplaces .  But, the tech sector's practice, not just their products, are influencing the way that companies manage their employees, their work flow and their strategies.

At our June 1 meeting, we'll be joined by one of Iowa's notable technology leaders an d successful nonprofit founders,  Eric Engelmann.  Eric f ounded  Geonetric  in 1999.  Today, Eric is a co-founder and the Executive Director of  NewBoCo  in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.  NewBoCo's mission is accelerate world changing ideas, from Iowa.

Eric transferred the strategies and techniques of the tech sector into the DNA of  NewBoCo.  NewBoCo, founded in 2014, is one of the region's fastest growing nonprofits doubling and tripling their gross revenue, program offerings, and clients in just a few years.  Hyper-growth has been accomplished by employing tools borrowed from the technology and start-up worlds.  These methods reward experimentation, fast-failure, clear communication, employee engagement and transparency.

Come to the session to hear Eric's start-up story, and to discover how these innovative tactics could transform the way you think of management and planning.

Community Eve nts...
Letter carriers walk through our community every day, often coming face-to-face with a sad reality that far too many face: hunger. But you can change that.

On  Saturday, May 13th , the National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC) will collect food donations to provide assistance to the millions of Americans who are struggling with hunger.  Celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, the  Stamp Out Hunger  food drive is the  nation's largest single-day food drive , having collected more than one billion pounds of food since its inception as a national food drive in 1993.
You can leave a nonperishable food donation in a bag near your mailbox and your letter carrier or a volunteer will make sure it gets delivered to the Northeast Iowa Food Bank for distribution in the community.

If you are interested in driving around a route or two with a letter carrier on  Saturday, May 13th, click here.

This course is designed to give you a boost-in knowledge, resources, and confidence-to help you embrace your role and thrive as an intentional techie.
